Special Education Teacher
Our client are seeking dedicated Special Education teachers to join their team for the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the progress of students with disabilities during the summer months.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement and adapt individualized curriculum for students as outlined in their IEPs or Section 504 accommodation plans.
2. Collaborate with parents, school staff, and other professionals to ensure that students’ needs are being met.
3. Provide one-on-one or group instruction to students with a variety of disabilities.
4. Support students with daily tasks such as toileting and feeding, if necessary.
5. Communicate regularly with parents and school staff regarding student progress and behavior.
6. Document student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
2. Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
3. Strong understanding of the best practices and methodologies in Special Education.
4. Ability to manage students with different skill levels and learning styles.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to lift and assist students, if necessary.
