JOB DESCRIPTION

The Candidate shall provide systems engineering, custom application development, database administration and operations and maintenance (O&M) for the Organization system in support of the full system lifecycle. The Candidate shall provide support for deployment packaging, system maintenance and troubleshooting for software and virtual infrastructure (cloud) components to maintain sustainability and reliability of the Organization’s system. The new system must meet Organization approved timelines for new development and integration activities. The Candidate shall ensure that all development of applications and infrastructure integration comply with Organization’s security, architectural policies, regulations and Organization’s reference architecture. The Candidate shall be required to communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries, to include other Candidate teams. The Candidate shall be required to work with Organization staff and Candidate personnel, as well as external stakeholders.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

The Candidate shall have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience:

• translating detailed design into computer software.

• developing and conducting software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.

• ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

• preparing documentation such as program-level, user-level, and security documentation.

• performing as an Agile Scrum Master.

• translating database requirements into end-to-end design for databases that may involve multiple interfaces to other database systems.

• Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining database structures.

• designing interactive web databases and web services; and user interfaces.

• developing security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.

• developing, testing, and implementing complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.

• Amazon Web Services (AWS) and MS Azure cloud technologies.

• Jenkins, Github, Docker, and orchestration tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.

• Linux administration and scripting languages including Bash and Python.

• full ELK stack such as ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Filebeat.

• JavaScript/HTML/CSS web user interfaces.

• web UI frameworks, such as React and/or Extended JavaScript (ExtJS).

 

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS

Skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not required to perform the work include: • analyzing customer requirements and providing technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies. • designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementation. • working with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. • designing and customizing software for client use in a cloud environment with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. • providing technical support during software installation or configuration. • developing formal database requirements.
