Pharmacist
Working Hours: 8-hour shift; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily; Monday through Friday (30-minute unpaid meal break included)
Responsibilities:
1. Provide Pharmacy Services in the delivery of patient care to the Pharmacy Department of the SFIHC.
2. Interpret prescriptions, compute dosages, weigh and measure drugs, and mix and compound drugs and chemicals.
3. Address issues related to the clinical, chemical, and therapeutic applications of drugs.
4. Dispense products as prescribed, ensuring accuracy in dosage and identification of therapeutic incompatibilities.
5. Review patient’s health records for therapeutic appropriateness, including diagnosis/treatment, patient allergy, and medication compatibility.
6. Notify prescribers concerning any discrepancies and ensure proper labeling for protection of contents and patient.
7. Provide specialized expertise in the proper dosing of dangerous agents known to have narrow therapeutic benefit to toxic ratios.
8. Specify proper techniques and special protection needs for storage, paying attention to therapeutic agents influenced by light, temperature, humidity, container, etc.
9. Inspect stock for possible changes, which may result in deterioration, loss of potency, formation of toxic products, and/or undesirable results.
10. Maintain inventory, cleanliness, and product dating.
Qualification Requirements:
1. Must maintain a Pharmacist License.
2. A minimum of 1-year experience as a Pharmacist.
3. Must provide documentation reflecting immunity for the indicated vaccine preventable diseases.
4. Allergic reactions to a component of a vaccine must be documented.
