Position Description
Litigation Attorney
Our client seeks an experienced litigator to play a critical role in managing, resolving, and
avoiding disputes. The successful candidate will handle a range of complex commercial and
regulatory litigation, including high-profile matters involving significant financial or reputational
risk to the company.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the companies’ activities in court and arbitration, including litigation and
settlement strategies, and managing outside counsel.
• Serve as a strategic issue spotter for the business, identifying risks and opportunities
early, positioning issues favorably, objectively and accurately assessing strengths and
weaknesses, and minimizing or resolving disputes where possible.
• Spearhead initiatives to prevent litigation against the companies, including by identifying
structural and process improvements and providing professional trainings on risk
mitigation across the organization.
• Assist with internal or government investigations.
• To the extent desired, work across the companies’ Legal Department to gain exposure to
contracts and subcontracts, corporate governance issues, and related work.
Qualifications:
Strong credentials and membership in good standing with a state bar, the successful candidate
will have:
• Litigation Expertise – At least seven years of litigation experience, including experience
assessing legal, reputational, and business risk in difficult and high-stakes situations
under acute time pressure.
• Leadership Capacity – A proven leader with the demonstrated ability to coordinate
strategy and drive effective collaboration among senior executives, project teams, and
outside counsel.
• Mission Orientation – A dedicated team member with passion to continue the success of
a longstanding institution and the mentality to lead solutions to the most challenging
disputes a multi-billion-dollar for-profit enterprise faces.
• Intellectual Horsepower and Curiosity – A quick study who can climb a learning curve
