Public sector
Modernization that survives contact with a real agency
Public-sector technology work carries obligations that commercial work does not. Decisions have to be documented and defensible. Services have to remain available and accessible while they are being replaced. Security has to be demonstrable, not asserted. Spending has to be justifiable long after the project closes.
IMD Logic builds for those conditions deliberately. We plan modernization in increments that can be funded, reviewed and rolled back. We write down why an architecture was chosen, not only what it is. We treat accessibility and security as design requirements rather than as items to be checked at the end.
Who we support
Organizations we work with
State and local agencies
Departments modernizing legacy applications, consolidating data across program areas, improving resident-facing digital services, and strengthening security posture without interrupting operations.
Education organizations
Districts, systems and institutions improving administrative technology, protecting student and staff information, and reducing the manual effort in high-volume processes.
Federal prime contractors
Primes seeking a technology partner for defined scopes of work in AI, cybersecurity, data engineering, software development or cloud, with clear delivery discipline and documentation practices.
Focus areas
Where we most often help
Technology modernization
Replacing or extending systems that have become expensive to maintain, difficult to staff or impossible to integrate — planned so that service continuity is never the thing at risk.
Secure digital services
Resident and constituent-facing applications designed to be usable, accessible and secure, with identity and access management appropriate to the sensitivity of the transaction.
Data modernization
Consolidating and governing data held across program areas so reporting is consistent, defensible and available to the people who need it — with access controls that reflect who should see what.
Responsible AI adoption
Identifying where artificial intelligence genuinely helps a public organization, evaluating readiness honestly, and putting governance, human oversight and privacy controls around it before it touches a real decision.
Cybersecurity
Assessment, architecture and control implementation that can be aligned with recognized frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, together with continuity and recovery planning.
Project discipline and teaming
Clear scope, documented decisions, regular demonstrable progress, and a collaborative posture when working alongside prime contractors, incumbent vendors or in-house teams.
How we work alongside other organizations
Most public-sector technology work involves more than one party. There is usually an incumbent vendor, an internal team with deep institutional knowledge, and sometimes a prime contractor with overall responsibility. We are used to that, and we behave accordingly: we document interfaces, we do not treat other teams as obstacles, and we make our work reviewable.
For prime contractors evaluating us as a partner, our Corporate Capabilities page sets out our full capability profile in a form that can be saved as a PDF and circulated internally.
